Transport links have been improved immensely over recent years, thanks to the extention of the Jubilee Line which offers extra transport besides the regular London Bridge Station. Docklands light railway is also very convenient for getting around the borough and there are several good bus links with the city. Travel by river bus is also convenient in and around the borough and water tours are a very popular attraction.
Southwark is a popular area with many period properties in beautiful settings as well as a range of modern apartments. Dulwich is one of its more affluent areas with plenty of 18th century and 19th century homes, many of them situated within gated communities.
